30 & 364/365ths

As I've been spending my last night of 30 relaxing and watching The Simpsons, I've thought about a few things.  So, in no particular order, ten things I've learned, accepted or had reaffirmed in my 30th year:

- Size does matter, but usually not for more than an hour, so you better have something else to fall back on.
- The lack of universal health care in a Western country should be considered a human rights violation.
- I can never have shaggy hair.
- Based on the difference between 20 and 30, I am really looking forward to my 30s.
- Always be aware that the only one you can always count on is yourself, so make sure you're always able to take care of yourself.
- Bush really is that bad.
- Now that I've had one with good vodka, I understand what all the hoopla over martinis is all about.
- Being around negative people is really, really draining.  Being negative is even worse.
- Yes, I do miss my friends.
- I need new underwear & socks.

Cheers,
Shaun
